Mpc With Dean Jeffries
Davy Jones wanted to see how
The Monkeemobile car model
produced by Mpc was going. So
Davy Jones took a trip to Mpc.
Dean Jeffries was there at Mpc
in 1967,to meet Davy Jones, who
with the help of Dean Jeffries,
was able to have the famous car,
The Monkeemobile model, in the
production process, so the model
could be put together, in their own
rooms to enjoy.
Many people think the car model
The Monkeemobile model is from
from The Monkeemobile # 1.It is
not, it was produced from the #2
Monkeemobile.Why?At this time
The Monkees were in the second
season.Monkeemobile#2 was used,
was also the stunt car, that lovable
Davy Jones raced. The blower belt
cover curve ribbed lines, are very
different then then original car.
I finished working on retouching
the copyrighted 1967 original Mpc
The Monkeemobile model car of
the 1966 Pontiac 1966 GTO. The
colors are more vibrant, then the
model kit. I did this because the
original Monkeemobile model kit
wasn't as vibrant as the real car.
The red was originally a patented
color called by Dean Jeffries, Lip
Stick Red. If you look closely the
car, had a a cream pin striped lines,
that went from the top edge of the
front fenders to the rear of the
car. This was done when the doors
had no logos and after the logos,
The Monkees guitar logos were
on the doors. But when the logos
were made even larger, going to
to the top of the door, where The,
was now added,the cream line,
was removed forever.
They also didn't make the logos
correctly for the model.Monkees in
gold is just there. There is no The,to
put in front the word Monkees. It
seems they wanted to get it out as
quick as possible to the public to
build the kit. It was the highest
the highest grossing model kit
back in the sixties. This made
Mpc very happy with this model.
This retouched of The Monkee-
mobile means a lot to me, because
above The Monkeemobile, is all
four The Monkees in color. You
will not find a finer retouched of
the original Monkeemobile on
the internet. I spent much time to
give even The Monkeemobile
the realism, along with the four
The Monkees, they deserve.
All photos below are retouched
up and are mine. All pictures but
Davy Jones of The Monkeemobile
are from #2.The #2 car has a gold
scoop.#1 has a yellow blower,and
blacked out three baffled injector
scoop.
Enjoy see The Monkees in these
episodes with The Monkeemobile
number #2.
